AquaReale specializes in Montgomery, County PA Pond Installations.  From small ponds and water features, we have done it all!

What kind of Montgomery, County PA Pond Installation are you looking for?

We begin each process by working with the homeowner, going over what exactly you are looking for with a Montgomery, County PA Pond Installation.

We look at the location of the pond—can you see if from your windows?  Do you want to see the pond from your kitchen?  Your living room?

Then we look at the benefits of ponds you’d like the most—is it fish, relaxation, enjoying wildlife?  We want to make sure your Montgomery, County PA Pond Installation  is everything you want it to be.

Think about your goals before you reach out and write them down.  Is it the sound of running water you are after or do you like the idea of hand-feeding koi every day?

Children and grandchildren play a part in the decision and design as well.  We leave room for children to stand on flat rocks and observe and appreciate the magic of a pond.  Our children love sitting by the pond for homework or observing and catching frogs.

Once we determine locations and goals of the pond, the design begins.   Matt Reale works with each customer on their unique pond design, making certain we are hitting all the areas that are most important to you, our customer.  We talk about depth, maintenance responsibilities and end goals of aesthetics.

After our design is created and approved, our highly-qualified team of pond experts come to build you your own pond paradise.  They are trained professionals who have built, maintained and renovated hundreds of ponds of the years.  We stay to the end—making sure each customer is completely satisfied with their pond.  Our goal is your complete satisfaction with your Montgomery, County PA Pond Installation

Main Line, PA pondless waterfalls

are a great way for people with minimal space or time for maintenance to enjoy the sounds and sights of water. There is no pool of water at the bottom, so this helps with safety concerns as well.  We have installed many Main Line, PA pondless waterfalls.

Working much like a regular waterfall, the Main Line, PA pondless waterfall variety directs the cascading water into a deep rock-and-gravel filled hole where the water collects and is pumped back up to the top of the fall. A pondless waterfall is less costly than a pond to build and operate, and its size enables you to place one almost anywhere in your yard.

Maintenance could not be easier. All you need to do is fill the reservoir every few weeks to compensate for water loss caused by evaporation. A Main Line, PA pondless waterfall which has been properly incorporated into such a system can also increase property value by as a beautiful addition to your yard.

The greatest thing about a pondless waterfall for many people may be that they can be made to fit in any size yard. They are a low maintenance, low cost water feature.

Pond Plants in the Fall

What do you with Pond Plants in the Fall?

Here on the east coast, the seasonal change from summer to fall is apparent by the beautiful, multi-colored leaves and the dip toward cooler temperatures. How will that chill you feel in the air affect the plants in your aquatic paradise?

Hardy Marginals

As with terrestrial, perennial plants, dropping temperatures signal your hardy aquatic plants to prepare for their winter dormancy. At this time, you should stop fertilizing them as you see leaves begin to yellow and brown. It’s OK to leave these plants where they are in your pond to weather the cold of winter, just be sure to trim the dying foliage of your marginal plants down to 2” above the water level.

Tropical Marginals

Treat these plants as they would any garden annual by replacing them each season. A fun alternative to this is to treat them as tropical houseplants and bring them in for the winter. Most tropical marginals will do well potted in heavy garden soil in a sealed clay pot with no drainage holes. When kept wet, the plants do well in a sunny window or sunroom.

Waterlilies

Waterlilies will also begin to show their dislike for the cold with yellowing leaves and fewer flowers. When this happens, the leaf and flower stems of hardy water lilies should be cut back to about 2 to 3” above the base of the plant.

In areas where freezing is likely, plants should be overwintered indoors. This can be a difficult task; therefore many gardeners choose to simply buy a new plant each season.

Lotus

As with the marginals in your pond, the foliage of your lotus plants will need to be trimmed back after they have died back and turned brown. It’s important not to cut the leaves while they are still green because the freshly cut, hollow stems are susceptible to disease which can spread to the plant’s tuber, possibly killing the plant. Lotus tubers will not withstand freezing, so any plants that are growing in the shallow areas of your pond should be moved to the bottom, away from freezing water.

Caring for your Pond Plants in the Falll will mean less work and healthier plants come spring.  Contact us for more information on Pond Plants in the Fall.

Formal Pond Flagstone Project: Before and After

Formal Pond and Flagstone Project: Before

Formal Pond Flagstone Project:  Before

AquaReale had the opportunity to take a large overgrown area, which had two walls and falling apart flagstone and make it a beautiful inviting sitting area.

The space had been beautiful quite  a few years back and then fell into a state of disrepair.  AauaReale was tasked with bringing this idea to life, creating what was being envisioned by the client and her gardener.

Formal Pond Flagstone Project:  During

We took out the flagstone walls around the sides and opened the area up for one large inviting space.  We created and built a 10 x 6 formal pond and a pergola made out of cedar.

We also created the wood deck under the pergola, building around the hot tub to mask if from the overall view.   Beautiful PA flagstone was then laid to make a large, inviting patio.

Our clients spend hours out here each week,, relaxing to the look and sound of moving water as they are in the hot tub.

Formal Pond Flagstone Project:  After

Here’s how the project came out… The client was thrilled with the result!

Koi Fish Pond : A New Beginning…

Al  and Joan T were moving and were very anxious about what to do with their fish and needed a Koi Fish Pond as soon as possible

They found us during a google search. and reached out to see if AquaReale could help.  Al is a firefighter and he saved his money for quite a while to get a bigger pond at his new house.  HE had a very small pond at his current house.  Al and his wife were concerned about their fish and the move.  We assured them we would build the new pond first and then get them safely to their new home.

Koi  Fish Pond Construction

AquaReale built Al and Joan an 11 x 16 natural eco-system pond  in three days.  We used Pennsylvania field stone boulders for a natural look and situated the pond in a prime spot in the back yard viewable from multiple windows in Al and Joan’s  pond.

We put in plant shelves as well as fish caves, hiding spots for the fish if predators are near.  The pond will soon be filled in with beautiful natural greenery

Koi Fish Pond Praise

Al and Joan were very pleased with the results. “We got so much more than expected.” said Al.  “This is the first pond i didn’t build myself and I am thrilled with the results.”    “We are so happy with how this turned out,” added Joan.  Our grandchildren are going to love this!”

We are happy to report that we delivered all of Al’s fish safely to their new home with no casualties.   The family is enjoying the new pond and their grandchildren have already found a new frog.
